Mr. and Mrs. Iyer is a beautiful story about two absolutely different people ( an orthodox TamBrahm married woman and an open minded Muslim photo journalist) being thrown together by circumstances.
Though communal violence is the backdrop of the movie, thankfully it is not the central theme. There have been too many movies in the past, which have attempted to assume the onerous task of suggesting a solution to 'all' communal problems. I am afraid it is not such a simple topic, as the films sometimes make it out to be.
Aparna Sen has not wavered even for a minute into any subplot. The story sticks to the interaction between the two principal characters. That is the reason why their is such an excellent chemistry between the lead pair.
Rahul Bose comes out with a mature performance and Konkana is absolutely brilliant as the orthodox Tamil Brahmin woman.

Go watch it if you already haven't!
